 Happy Holidays

The Foundation would like to thank all of our members and supporters for an incredible 2010. We have made huge strides this year, and it has all been made possible through your efforts. The Foundation Board and staff wish you a wonderful Holiday Season and continued health and success in the New Year.

Foundation Attends National Business Coalition on Health Meeting

The National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH) is a national, non-profit (c) 6, membership organization of purchaser-led health care coalitions. NBCH and its members are dedicated to value-based purchasing of health care services through the collective action of public and private purchasers. NBCH seeks to accelerate the nation's progress towards safe, efficient, high-quality health care and the improved health status of the American population.

The Foundation attended the 15th Annual NBCH Conference held in Washington, D.C., November 14 - 16, 2010. This was an incredibly successful event, with the Foundation making some strong connections and sharing the Mercer and CHVI reports with coalition directors. This was the profession's first time in front of this audience and the Foundation was well received - having the busiest booth at the conference.

As a follow-up to this event, the Foundation has contacted individuals who expressed interest in learning more about the benefits of chiropractic care on health benefit plans. The Foundation plans on expanding this outreach in 2011 and several meetings are already being scheduled for next year.

 Support Continues to Grow

Last month the Foundation recognized Chiro One Wellness Centers for outstanding support, raising $2,200 during a sponsored fundraiser. Last week, the Foundation received a check for $500 from Chiro One Wellness Centers in honor of Dan Yachte. This brings their total contributions over the past year to almost $14,000.

Chiropractic Students have been at the front lines of support for the Foundation, and that trend continued as the Sigma Phi Chi sorority (Palmer College - Davenport) voted as a group to become annual contributors to the Foundation.

The Cleveland Chiropractic College Los Angeles (CCCLA) Student Council became a monthly contributor this past month. Congratulations to the CCCLA for the acceptance of the Foundation as an official "on campus" club at the school.

Very special thanks to the Northwestern Health Sciences University and Cleveland Chiropractic College for sending out letters to alumni informing them of the Foundation's positive press campaign and encouraging support.

Support for the Foundation continues to grow by the day. Following the Florida Chiropractic Association event in August, the Foundation had over 1,500 individual monthly contributors. To date, our monthly support has now grown to 1,860 - the Foundation anticipates reaching 2,000 by Parker Vegas and 3,000 by the end of 2011. Join our effort, sign up a colleague or family member, help us reach our goals, and effectively promote chiropractic care to the general public. One Billion positive messages were accomplished in 2010.

 Parker Vegas Around the Corner

The 2011 Parker Seminars, Las Vegas is just a month away - make sure to mark your calendars for January 13 - 15, 2011, and visit the Foundation at the Las Vegas Hilton. The Foundation will be joined at booth, Foyer-3, by a number of spokespersons, including Jerry Rice, General Becky Halstead and members from the Washington Redskins Cheerleading squad.

 Car Raffle Winding Down

The deadline to enter to win a 2011 Mustang convertible is fast approaching. As a reminder, every dollar donated is an entry to win the car. The winner, selected by an independent accounting agency, will be announced during the 2011 Parker Seminars at 4 p.m. (PT) on Saturday, January 15, 2011. The announcement will be made at the beginning of the general session. Every dollar contributed from January 2010 to 2 p.m. (PT) on Saturday, January 15, 2011, will be included in the raffle for a chance to win.

 Football Injuries

The latest press release developed by the Foundation is now available for members to promote and share locally. Working with Sol Cogan, D.C., president of the Professional Football Chiropractic Society, the Foundation crafted a release that focuses on common football injuries and the best options for prevention. This release has drawn in some high-level interest, and the Foundation will continue to pursue media opportunities regarding this information.

Please view the release online at http://www.f4cp.com/press-releases.php. As a member, share this release with your local media and offer to provide additional information as a local expert. This release covers injuries from the professional level all the way down to Pop Warner. Take advantage of this free information and help inform your community.

Gen. Halstead Speaks with National Fibromyalgia Association

This past month, the National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA) interviewed Foundation spokesperson (retired) General Becky Halstead. During the interview, Gen. Halstead discussed her personal battles with fibromyalgia and her positive experiences with chiropractic care. The NFA will be including the information in their publications, including its blog, newsletter, and magazine.

A special thanks to Melissa Lee and the American Chiropractic Association for assisting in securing this media opportunity.

 Communication to Contributors

Scheduled for 2011, the Foundation will host a series of webinars that will educate and inform Foundation supporters on the many benefits of membership. Most importantly, the Foundation will be advising on how best to use the Foundation materials to promote chiropractic care and their individual practices locally. The Foundation encourages the participation of doctors and their assistants during each part of the "PR 101" series. Each webinar will be archived onto the Foundation website, so if you are unable to attend you can still benefit from the information.

Please follow our newsletters for information on the upcoming webinars and check our website monthly for new installations. Below is a list of some of the webinar topics the Foundation will be hosting throughout 2011.
